Camp Project

Based 3 hours north of Ulaanbaatar, Camp Tsoglog is a summer camp for children that we help run and teach at. The project consists of two different camps, one with a main focus on teaching English and the other camp is for the underpriviliged children that CYPPD work with.

As a Volunteer you are an integral part to the camps success, working alongside Mongolian volunteers and translators to help run the summer camps. Both camps follow a similar layout, with activities such as swimming in the nearby river, mountain walks, learning songs and dances, and playing lots of games!

The camps run from mid-June to August, depending on the availabiity of the volunteers and the amount of children that apply for the camps. Its a really beautiful part of Mongolia, with very little contact to the outside world (there's no internet here..). This means you are dependant on making the most of your surroundings and spending time with your fellow volunteers!

Living and working with the other volunteers (6 - 8 people) is a huge part of the experiance. Working with children means inevetibly there will be challenges to overcome, and situations where maturity and responsibility are essential. However having fun is just as important. Halfway through the camps there is the oppurtunity to go back to Ulaan Baatar for Naadam, Mongolia's national festival. This is a great break and chance to see the culture that is still so strong and unique to Mongolia.
